Hello! My name is McKensie Critser and I will be a graduate of Boise State University in May 2013. I expect to receive my Idaho Standard Elementary Certificate in July of 2013. During the 2012-2013 school year I completed an internship in a fourth grade classroom and student taught in a first grade classroom at Discovery Elementary in Meridian Joint School District #2. This experience has completely shaped my views on education, and it is my hope that readers of this portfolio will see the teacher I am becoming through my teaching philosophy, management plans, and artifacts.
Each artifact or sample of student work involved communicating and occasionally partnering with my mentor teacher or grade level team to share ideas and receive feedback. This kind of collaboration was invaluable to me as a new teacher as I received the benefit of their combined experience. I truly appreciate all of the time they invested to help me learn and grow.
